This policy explains when money is refunded, how a lease is cancelled, and what happens to your site, your software, and your data when it ends. It applies to every lease with RunKeepAI. Where your signed agreement says something different, your agreement wins. An online authorisation or an e-signature counts as signed. See Lease Terms §20.
1. What You Are Paying For
You are not buying a file. You are leasing a working system that we build, host, look after and keep running. A website, business software, or both. What you pay each month pays for that month of service. That is why the rest of this page is written around stopping the next month, not returning a product.
2. Before Anything Is Built. Full Refund.
If you have paid and we have not yet started building, tell us and you get 100% of what you paid, refunded in full. No conditions, no time limit, no reason required. If we have not done the work, we do not keep the money.
3. During the Build. Fourteen Days.
Once work has started, you may cancel within fourteen (14) days of the build beginning and receive a refund of everything paid, less the work already completed. We will show you, in writing and in plain terms, exactly what was done and what is being kept. If we cannot show you the work, we do not keep the money.
4. After Your System Is Live
Once your system is live and running your business, the fee for a month that has already started is not refundable. That month of hosting, upkeep and support has been delivered. You can still cancel going forward at any time under Section 5, and you are never billed for a month you cancelled before it started.
5. Cancelling a Lease
Email us. Thirty (30) days’ written notice ends a month-to-month lease. There is no cancellation fee, no exit fee and no penalty for leaving. If you are still inside a minimum first term, you still owe the rest of that term. Nothing beyond it.
We will confirm your cancellation in writing and tell you the exact date service stops. You will never have to cancel by phone, and we will never make you talk to someone to leave.
6. If We Break It, We Fix It or We Pay It Back
If your system is broken or down and it is our fault, we fix it. If we cannot fix it in a reasonable time, we credit or refund the days it was down, whichever you prefer. Outages caused by another company, by your own domain or DNS changes, or by something outside our reasonable control are covered by Section 10 of the Lease Terms.
7. What Is Never Refundable
Money we paid out to somebody else for you and cannot get back. Domain registration fees, licences from other companies, paid stock or fonts, and card-processing fees. We pass those through at cost. We never mark them up, and we list them out before we spend a dollar. We never buy anything for you without your written approval first.
8. Your Domain and Your Data Are Never Held
Refunds, disputes and cancellations never touch your right to your own property. Whoever owes whom, you can move your domain away at any time and you can have a full copy of your business data, free. We keep your data for thirty (30) days after service ends so you can come and get it. We do not hold a domain, a database or a login hostage over money. Ever.
9. How Long a Refund Takes
We say yes or no in writing within five (5) business days of your request, and we tell you why either way. If we say yes, the money goes back to the card or account you paid with within ten (10) business days. Your bank may take a few days more to post it. That part is out of our hands.
10. If You Disagree With a Decision
Reply and say so. A person reads it, not a form. If we still disagree, we would rather give the month back than argue with a small business over it. A chargeback filed without talking to us first suspends your service while the bank looks into it, so email us first. It is faster for both of us.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. A change takes effect at the start of your next renewal term, and we give you at least thirty (30) days’ written notice first. A change never reaches back to a payment you already made.
12. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Both sides agree that any dispute is heard in the state and federal courts in New Jersey.
Not Legal Advice
This policy is written in plain English and a lawyer did not draft it. It describes how we actually handle money. It is not legal advice to you, and nothing in it takes away a right you have under consumer-protection law.
